About the Role

The role of the Head of Conduct & Control is to ensure effective adherence to our Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and involves first line of defence risk and governance reporting to Executive leaders and Board Risk Committee. The role will have a team of 6 FTE, with responsibility for adherence to regulation and policy such as Consumer Duty and Conduct and provide appropriate, evidence based assurance of compliance across the end to end business.

Key responsibilities- Lead a team of risk and control professionals providing support and leadership to the team, developing staff and managing team performance.- Contribute to the design and execution of a modern oversight framework that delivers effective risk management and control oversight with a goal of lower cost to control.- Develop the use of data, key risk indicators, digital metrics and control assessments to provide evidence-based assurance of a robust control environment and policy adherence.- Lead on influencing the vector to operating within Group Risk Appetite tolerances.- Promote and encourage a risk culture, through risk management awareness and accountability, that aligns with the strategic drivers and behaviours of the vector and wider Group.- Ensure strong compliance with ERMF across the end to end processes of the vector.- Act as the Subject Matter Expert of key risk frameworks and key regulations such as Consumer Duty and Risk and Control Self Assessment.- Strong relationship and influencing with internal teams and second and third lines of defence.- Governance reporting across ERMF requirements and provision of reporting to a high standard up to Executive level and Board Risk Committee.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Demonstrative experience as a risk and control practitioner in first or second line of defence risk management roles.- Operational Risk qualification/certification desired.- An excellent set of analytical skills, naturally inclined to analyse and challenge current processes and seek to ensure best practice.- Communicates effectively with others at all levels of seniority across the organisation and has the skills to influence others.- Strong leadership and adaptability through change.- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.- Good knowledge of FCA regulations, particularly in relation to Consumer Duty, Conduct Risk and Operational Risk.- Strong verbal and written communicator with ability to make the complex simple and engage both technical and non-technical audiences using a variety of mediums.- Highly skilled in analysing the appropriate data and KPIs/ KRIs to support and identify themes/ trends to make fact-based decision making.- Dedication to robust, timely and consistent delivery of agreed outcomes.- Good commercial awareness.
