IMPORTANT

Risk Officer reports directly to the Deputy CRO Guernsey and fulfils a broad role within the CRO team, but with a particular bias toward all aspects of operational risk including, but not limited to, internal and external fraud risk management, performance of controls and maintenance of the risk reporting systems within the Branch. In general the CRO function in Guernsey has responsibility for the management of regulatory, reputational and operational risk by ensuring compliance with internal standards and external laws and regulations.

**YOUR CHALLENGE**:

- Develop the ability to provide consulting services to management and staff in respect of all aspects of risk management within the Branch.
- Develop a strong working relationship with other stakeholders across the Group in particular in the sub-region (Julius Baer International in London).
- Take a lead in the management of risk, in particular;
- Assist with the identification and assessment and monitoring of risk indicators and risk tendencies, make them transparent to Management and monitor the implementation of risk mitigating measures.
- Takes ownership of the Key Control Plan and Global Minimum Control Implementation. This includes the (i) monitoring of the timely and diligent execution of Key Controls / GMCs, (ii) the assessment of their results and operating effectiveness and a timely reporting of results to Local Management and Group.
- Completion of some key controls within the plan where necessary.
- Maintain a log of the operational risk events that are reported and liaise with the business as necessary to ensure that they are managed in accordance with the Group standards.
- In time, also maintain an adequate local Risk Management Framework in accordance with group-wide standards, local regulations and business strategy.
- Develop, over time, an appropriate risk culture, and provide guidance, steer and make recommendations to the business as required (rather than give a pure functional opinion). This is with a view to enable the business to remain flexible yet still operate within the regulatory/risk framework, whilst bearing in mind any potential impact on it..
- Enhance the visibility and the service level of the Risk Management function. Support other business functions in delivering excellent service through balanced decision making, transparency and a sense of urgency, as measured by feedback received from peers, stakeholders and management.
- Supports relevant projects in line with defined project milestones and project deliverables.
- Provides risk reporting on a regular basis to Local Management and local banking authorities. Participate actively in functional or management meetings/calls with Head Office and other JB locations as required and provide concise and timely input for the respective reports.
- Works effectively across offices. Shares appropriate risk related information openly and be responsive to information requested.
