Practice Based Educator - Surgical Theatres NMGH

Qualified Theatre Practitioner (ODP or RN) with significant post registration theatre experience.

This is an exciting time to join the theatre team at North Manchester as we undertake several significant improvement projects and expansions within our services.

If you are motivated and driven and want to be part of a team of educators who have in depth knowledge of perioperative practice in scrub, circulating, anaesthetics and recovery; have an understanding of evidence based practice and are able to support learners within the theatre environment to develop in their role then we want to hear from you.

You will be supported by the Education and Development Practitioner; Theatre Clinical Leads and Matron for Theatres to grow and develop both personally and professionally. This is a unique opportunity to develop your teaching skills and improve theatre practice.

**Main Duties will include**:
Providing in-situ and classroom teaching for all aspects of the peri-operative journey.

Supporting staff to achieve their mandatory training requirements.

Act as a key trainer and cascade trainer for a number of clinical skills including medical device training inline with corporate training requirements and group policy.

Acting as a source of support to all staff regarding future development within their role and accessing CPD/external courses/education programmes.

**You will need to be**:
Flexible, self disciplined and willing to maintain your clinical skills.

Keen to develop your own skills in teaching and assessing in a formal classroom setting as well as in the Theatre environment

Organised and good at assessing staff development needs and working with staff at all levels to ensure the right level of training is given.

Monitoring and reporting on progress and adapting as and when needed, ensuring competencies are maintained throughout the theatre departments.

A champion of the Civility Saves Lives initiative to support staff to speak up.
