Business Growth Project Officer

**The Growth Company’s (GC)** Business Growth Hub team have an exciting new opportunity for a Business Growth Project Officer who will be Supporting the GM Business Growth Hub (GMBGH) Senior Management Team (SMT), leading on company-level reporting, facilitating the business planning process, and identifying, developing, and delivering business growth projects, as required.
**GC Business Growth Hub **is a community of specialists with a passion to help businesses across Greater Manchester to realise their ambitions. Since 2011, the Hub has supported more than 15,000 businesses including start-ups, scale-ups, and established businesses, providing finance guidance, creating international links, and paving the way for innovation and people development across the region. We work with the best of public and private partners, offering expert one-to-one and peer-to-peer business support, events, specialist programmes, funding and much more.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead on all GMBGH company-level reporting, ensuring that all input/relevant information from across the business is collated on time and that reports are produced clearly and concisely, to a high standard, and within required timeframes.
- Lead and assist the planning, management and implementation of projects, new work packages, and cross-cutting priorities as appropriate, including co-ordinating the annual business plan.
- To maintain a high level of awareness of national policy and programme developments related to business growth and international trade. Understands how GMBGH can influence and contribute to these and relate such developments to service delivery across internal and external teams.
- Maintain strong and effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders operating at a senior level.
- On behalf of the SMT, co-ordinate, develop, and support input into calls for funding, bidding, and tendering.
- Obtain, collate and quality assure information and data required for the Director’s presentations and reports and, the drafting of papers/reports for meetings including the production of compelling presentation material (both internal and external).
- Drafting of internal and external correspondence in consultation with the SMT.
- Analyse data to inform the SMT in planning and decision-making.
- Manage the Business Growth Hub’s input to the business opportunities pipeline.
- Providing any other support to the SMT as required ensuring best use of time and resources.
**About you**:
- High-level interpersonal, communication (written and oral), influencing, and negotiating skills; able to demonstrate credibility.
- Good IT literacy - especially Microsoft Office packages.
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
- Able to inspire and motivate colleagues.
- Reliable, flexible, and adaptable to change.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
**Skills Required**:
- Experience in producing company-level Board and / or Stakeholder reports.
- Report writing and the ability to synthesise and present information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of national, regional, and local policy and programmes in one or more fields of business growth, skills, and employment or economic development.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of public sector funding regimes.
- Clear awareness of customer and partner priorities and understanding of political agenda.
- Able to conduct high-level representational work in one-to-one and formal meeting /committee settings.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
