Children's Outpatients Health Care Support Worker

We are looking for enthusiastic HCSW to join our busy children's clinic in Grantham to cover Maternity Leave.

You will develop a wide range of skills from taking blood samples, ECGs and completing baseline observations and will also be trained to carry out QB tests.

We have a wide range of children's clinics, supporting our clinicians with examinations and chaperone when needed.
1. Ability to undertake a range of delegated clinical skills relevant to area of work. Including venepuncture, ECG’s, taking and recording of heights and weights. (not an inclusive list)
2. Good written and verbal communication skills, basic feedback report writing.
3. Clerical and IT skills
4. Ability to use medical equipment such as sphygmomanometer, glucose meter and other equipment to undertake clinical skills such as recording of physiological observations
5. Able to undertake patient assessments within agreed protocols and as delegated by a Registered Nurse/ Midwife
6. Able to develop good working relationships with colleagues, carrying out delegated duties and exchanging information with a wide and varied group of staff including: - Patients, relatives and carers.
- Ward / department nursing team
- Directorate nurses / practitioners
- Other multi-disciplinary team members, including allied health professionals, specialist nurses, medical staff
- Student nurses and other learners on placement to the ward or department
