General Maintenance Operative

**About the role**
We have a great opportunity for someone to join our Head Office team and support in a general maintenance position. This will mainly be based at our site in Hatfield, with the opportunity to travel to other offices in the Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City area. In this key role you will help ensure good housekeeping practices and a safe environment for all users and visitors across the different sites. Tasks will range from investigating appliance issues & leaks, painting, siliconing & replacing small fixtures & fittings. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for DIY work.
**Responsibilities**
- Assisting the replenishment and goods in teams with all required areas within UK Group Office sites.
- General maintenance duties such as putting up noticeboards, general upkeep/repair tasks at any UK Group Office designated site
- Ad Hoc minor repairs/install duties as required within UK Group Office designated sites
- Reporting of Hazards, Accidents and Near Misses, being involved in identification and implementation of solutions
- Flexibility, professionalism and adaptability are essential qualities for this role, as is working under pressure and adjusting for daily challenges.
- Gritting the car park stairways & pathways during the winter months
- Department moves as directed
- Porterage duties as required, furniture, stationery, other
- Meeting room set up as directed
- Manage job queue/workload from job opening through to fully resolved
- Proactive approach to ensure an exceptional standard maintained
- Daily building inspections to ensure standard maintained, self logging tasks to account for productivity.
- Assisting with the weekly fire alarm test process
- Brand/Promotional material display/removal as required
- Assist with fire evacuation process
- A good knowledge and history of working with power tools needed.
- Assist with in house M&E team as additional labour
- Assist with delivery of Work From Home equipment
- Build and install furniture
- Provide cover for other Building Services team members
- Basic plumbing, carpentry and electrical skills required to complete minor maintenance task
- Precision and attention to detail in a corporate environment
- Full UK driving licence (preferred but not required)
- The ability to work within a team
- Basic DIY skills and in-depth understanding of maintenance procedures
- The ability to find/propose non-standard solutions to resolve issues
- Experience in a similar role (qualifications not essential but preferred)
