Godwin Junior School are looking to appoint a professional, dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic Admin Assistant Apprentice to work within the school administration team providing effective and efficient admin/clerical support to the school. To be able to relate appropriately to a diverse range of people within and beyond our school community and have an awareness of pupils’ needs.

**Apprenticeship summary**:

- 16 month duration
- Annual wage - £11,232 (pay increase after 12 months)
- Working week - Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (term time only)
- Total hours per week: 36 hours a week
- Online apprenticeship training supported by our skilled tutors

**Key Tasks and Accountabilities;**

Key tasks and accountabilities are intended to be a guide to the range and level of work expected of the post holder. This is not an exhaustive list of all tasks that may fall to the post holder and employees will be expected to carry out such other reasonable duties which may be required from time to time.
- To provide administrative support for processing pupil records, admissions, pupil attendance, punctuality reports, transfers and office filing, using both manual and computerised systems.
- To implement and operate aspects of the school’s administration using our management information system.
- To receive telephone enquiries and calls in person from parents/carers and the public, giving relevant information when appropriate to the caller and to pass information/enquiries to relevant staff in a timely manner.
- To assist with the administration of the school dinner money account and books.
- To treat all matters as confidential, and to observe data protection guidelines.
- To deal with routine correspondence.
- To take receipt of and distribute deliveries to the school.
- To assist with distributing of the post and letters.
- To assist with the admission of pupils to the school, giving information to parents/carers and maintaining pupil records.
- To carry out general typing and photocopying within the office as requested by the Senior Admin Officer, including the weekly newsletter.
- To keep a stock check of all stationery items including books and equipment required by the school, informing the School Business Manager when stocks are low and re-order as required. Also issue stock to staff members.
- To undertake such other duties as may be required from time-to-time.
- To keep up
- to-date with professional developments and to participate in appropriate training.
- To collect, record and issue receipts for monies as required.
- Ensure school security arrangements are always complied with, including the issue of visitors’ badges and signing of visitors’ book.
- Provide hospitality for visitors to the school.
- Maintain accurate pupil attendance records and meet on a weekly basis with the Deputy Head Teacher to support high pupil attendance.
- Work independently, but also be an effective team member
- Work in an organised strategic manner, observing deadlines.
- To be aware of and adhere to, all safeguarding policies and procedures

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Ability to undertake routine clerical tasks.
- High level IT skills.
- Personal Style And Behaviour: We are looking for someone to be a positive, personable and confident communicator with the ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion in the role.

**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**
- Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship standard qualification
- All training will be delivered by LMP Education remotely
