North West, United Kingdom ENWL Full time

At Electricity North West we provide an essential service managing the region’s power network. We bring power to 5 million people in 2.4 million properties from Cheshire to Cumbria including homes, businesses, schools and hospitals.

More than 2,000 of us work to operate, maintain and upgrade our network of 57,000 kilometres of overhead lines and underground cables - enough to go around the world one and a half times.

We’re looking for an Internal Communications Officer, based in Manchester or Preston, to help us tell our story and help our workforce move from good to great. The role comes with an attractive salary of up to £40,000 p/a and an excellent benefits package.

You’ll be very hands on, regularly getting out on site with our operations teams and engaging with colleagues across our 16 depots and offices from Stockport to Carlisle. You’ll also support our executive and senior leadership teams through internal communications, and support the wider communications team as needed.

Here are some of the things you could expect to do:

- Support the Internal Communications Manager and wider team in the delivery and organisation of internal communications objectives and colleague engagement
- Facilitate relationships and build trust with colleagues at all levels of the business and be a trusted communications advisor
- Act as the communications lead for key internal change projects with stakeholders from across the business
- Provide expert advice and counsel to colleagues on internal communications activity
- Be a relentless Plain English champion
- Support the delivery of key internal events, including venue sourcing, logístical delivery and analysing attendee data for continuous improvement.
- Five years' experience in a similar role (internal communications, PR, events or marketing)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, focusing on plain English
- Good planning, organisational, people networking and relationship skills
- Ability to work under pressure, managing competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Ability to work with senior leaders effectively and confidently.

We are committed to ensuring our people are supported and are proud of our reward and benefits offer, which includes:

- An annual bonus scheme
- Twenty-five days annual leave increasing with length of service
- Private healthcare
- An employee rewards portal offering discounts on several well-known brands
- A market-leading contributory pension scheme
- Employee assistance programme and opportunity for professional development through our learning and development function.
- Together we have the energy to transform our communities. We are switched on. We are adaptable. We take pride._
