Save the Children UK has an exciting opportunity for a proactive and data driven individual with extensive research and project experience to join us as our **Evaluation and Learning Lead **where you will work within the UK Impact team leading on our monitoring and evaluation activities within our expanding Tower Hamlets Place
- based work.
- Please note: This is a 5 year Fixed Term Contract_.

**About Us**

Save the Children UK believes every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, we work every day to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When crisis strikes, and children are most vulnerable, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We ensure children's unique needs are met and their voices are heard. We deliver lasting results for millions of children, including those hardest to reach.

**About our Tower Hamlets projects**

The Tower Hamlets Parent Power project ran from 2019 to 2023 and formed part of the place-based work of Save the Children and local partners across the UK.

The programme aims to make a sustainable difference to the lives of children growing up in poverty in communities across the UK, by taking a whole-system and evidence-based approach to improving early learning outcomes. In taking a whole-system approach, our place-based work recognises that, while important, individual programmes alone will only ever be part of the solution to narrow the attainment gap between children in poverty and their more affluent peers. In order to make a sustainable difference to the outcomes of children growing up in poverty, we need to transform how whole early learning systems support those children - recognising that there are many different people, organisations and services that play a key role. By bringing together and supporting schools, statutory bodies, local charities, families, and children in communities, and looking at the root causes of issues affecting outcomes in these communities, the programme seeks to enable communities to make a sustainable difference to the lives of children growing up in poverty.

In early 2024 we were successful in securing funding for the next five years to continue to work with the Tower Hamlets community and build upon the work of our Parent Power project. Our Community Power project is a joint project with our Save the Children place-based team in Glasgow and we will be working closely with them over the life course of the project.

Community Power, takes us in to in a period of expansion and we are seeking an evaluation and learning lead to support our ambitious aims for driving forward change over the next five years.

Alongside the Community Power project, across 2024 in to early 2025, we will also be working on an exciting project which focusses on play and young children.

**About the role**

- Work alongside our central evidence and learning team to enhance our approach and share expertise with locals partners to ensure meaningful participation of children and their families in the projects we undertake.
- Work with local partners as well as internal data and evaluation leads to support the sharing of data and insights so the project can better track children's needs and the impact of particular projects.
