College Support Worker

**Responsibilities**:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN in a college environment, including in the classroom, during exams, and during extracurricular activities.
- Assist students with SEN in developing their academic and social skills, and help them to achieve their learning goals.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, counselors, and other professionals to create and implement individualized education plans for students with SEN.
- Assist students with SEN in accessing the college facilities and resources, and provide assistance with mobility, communication, and other daily living tasks.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, where students with SEN feel supported, respected, and included.
- Follow college policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety protocols, to ensure the well-being and safety of students at all times.
**Requirements**:
- Relevant experience working with students with special educational needs, or willingness to learn.
- Empathetic approach and personality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and college staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and adapt to the individual needs of students with SEN.
- A patient, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach toward students with SEN, with a commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on Update Service (or willing to apply).
**Working Days**: Tuesday - Friday (8:30 - 4:30)
