We are currently looking for an experienced Traffic Safety and Control Officer to join our Portsmouth team.

Main Responsibilities
The Traffic Safety and Control Officer is a key role for making decisions on how best to control traffic management (TM). Keeping traffic flow as smooth as possible without compromising public and site safety, around incidents, planned works, big events, or new developments.

When requested you will be expected to develop TM drawings using CONE CAD software, for works across the Network, including high speed roads. You will also review and provide advice on TM drawings submitted by third parties.

In this role you will also be responsible for carrying out safety audits for all works on the network including our own, developers, utility companies and other contractors. And assist in the investigation of any reported safety or environmental incidents or near misses.

All duties will be carried out with mind to Colas’s commitments to lowering **environmental impact** and ensuring that all works carried out are undertaken with full regard for the **safety** of yourself, colleagues, contractors and members of the public

To succeed in this role you will be an innovative individual with strong experience of various forms of traffic management and a good understanding of health and safety and environmental management and the requirements of CDM.

This is an ideal role for an individual that has a commitment to caring for people’s safety and has a good knowledge of the Portsmouth road network.
