**What you will be doing**:
You will join a dedicated team that works well together to provide care to men and women with learning disabilities; supporting people to lead a valued and fulfilled life. The aim of the service is to encourage individuals enabling them to live more independently through a programme of active community engagement, developing meaningful social networks and developing robust coping strategies.
Some of your key responsibilities will include promoting welling being and general health of service users and to help create an environment in which the service users feel secure. You will participate in medicine administration, encourage and support the service users in their personal, social, occupational and leisure development through the service and community, help in maintaining a hygienic and healthy environment and assist and support with any sensitive issues e.g. challenging behaviour.
It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; thanks to you, being able to do something today that they couldn’t do last week.
**The shift pattern is 7:00am -2.30pm; 2pm - 9:30pm, including a fortnightly weekend shift, **35 hours full-time contract.**

Gresham House is a 12 bedded service recognised Outstanding by the CQC, which provides support for people who may be living with moderate learning disabilities with associated health needs, autism and behaviours.
Service users may be transitioning from children’s residential services, education, moving out of the family home. We are also experienced in successfully managing clients moving from services where their placements may have broken down or where their needs are no longer being met.
