Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a **Senior Support Worker (Young Persons Service, HERTS)** on a Permanent basis at our scheme in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, known as Swan Foyer.
Swan Foyer is part of Peabody's young person's service in Hertfordshire, a supported housing scheme for single homeless individuals aged 16-25 years with complex needs.
It is situated on the High Street, close to the lively shops/cafes and local transport links. It is a residential scheme within in a 16th Century listed building that has 18 bedrooms.

**A bit about the role**:
As a** Senior Support Worker (Young Persons Service, HERTS)**, you will assist with the day-to-day management of our supported housing scheme. You will be working with a team of highly motivated, compassionate, and dedicated Specialist Support Workers who will have a caseload of young residents.
In this senior role, you will meet with the Specialist Support Workers regularly, provide advice, guidance and whilst you discuss the progress of each resident and their goals. And, when someone’s ready to move on, our objective will be to _help_ our young residents access the _housing register_ or_ look for suitable rented accommodation._

What does making a difference look like?
- Giving clear direction and guidance to develop the team to support our young people to lead full and active lives
- Carry out support worker activities to a high standard _(lead by example_) and contribute to a culture of open information, communication, and constructive feedback.
- Support the Scheme Manager in undertaking the quarterly reviews so evidence can be provided towards each resident's independent living journey known as 'moving on'.
- Creating positive relationships with the young people, meeting their needs and safeguarding them at all times.
- As this is a 16th Century listed building some knowledge of building and regulatory compliance is required (Health and Safety and Risk Assessments)._
- This role will require an Enhanced DBS check a UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle._
One of the essential duties will be to cover an out of hours on call rota in rotation (usually every 10 weeks) with the rest of the team, where an out of hours allowance will be paid.
