This role will lead on the review, development and implementation of BACP’s Ethical Framework.

**Principle Accountabilities**

1. To recruit, consult and collaborate with ethics experts to review and develop the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions; and the publication of the revised EFfCP in a number of accessible formats

2. To analyse data collected on the implementation of the EFfCP (since 2018) to inform the review of the EFfCP to ensure it is fit for purpose in supporting and enabling members to make ethical decisions in respect of practice, supervision and training.

3. To work with the Ethical Framework Project Manager to develop a project plan and timelines and ensure the project meets deadlines

4. To collaborate with the Registrar and the Register team to ensure the revised EthicalFramework supports public protection processes and represent the issues arising from the EF review at the Public Protection Committee for discussion and scrutiny.

5. To convene, consult and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders via review groups, focus groups, working groups, Ethics and Good Practice (EaGP) Steering Committee and the Ethical Framework Implementation Group to align the revised EFfCP with BACP’s strategic aims, policy and position statements and the public protection agenda of the BACP Register and the public protection committee

6. To develop a member consultation process to support the Ethical Framework review.

7. To support the design, proof reading and final publication processes for the EFfCP and supporting resources, ensuring they are published in a timely manner

8. To develop and implement a communications plan, along with BACP colleagues, for the roll-out of the revised Ethical Framework.

**Knowledge & Experience**
- Educated to MSc/MA level in counselling/psychotherapy (or related profession), with knowledge of a range of counselling modalities.
- Experienced accredited practitioner, supervisor and/or trainer
- Experienced in qualitative data analysis
- Experience of facilitating groups and presentation skills
- Ability to manage complex project work, work within a project management framework and meet deadlines
- Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
- Good editorial skills
- Effective verbal and written communication, adapting to audience
- Work within a team and on own initiative, organising and prioritising workloads
- A good working knowledge of GDPR and the impact on all aspects of the workstream
- Good level of computer literacy skills across different systems, MS Office, Teams and ability to learn and adapt to IT systems
