The Planned Care Division is led by the Divisional Medical Director, Divisional Director of Operations and Divisional Director of Nursing using the triumvirate model of leadership. The Key Services delivered by this Division are Emergency and Elective Surgery, Intensive Care and Burns all of which are delivered through the busy but well organised and supported wards and departments.

Due to recent promotion within the nursing leadership team this exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual with multiple skills and an appetite for delivering a first class nursing service to join the team in one of the UKs most successful and progressive NHS Foundation Trusts. We are looking for a senior nurse to join our team on the West Middlesex Site. The role entails overseeing and leading our elective and non-elective inpatient wards as well as our day surgery unit.
- The post holder will lead and be responsible for the delivery of high quality care and the patient experience in their areas through proactive clinical and professional leadership to nursing/ midwifery staff at all levels within their clinical area of responsibility. The post holder will need to ensure the delivery of high quality, evidence based, compassionate nursing or midwifery care, and that the workforce is managed efficiently and effectively.
- The post holder will ensure senior sisters/charge nurses have adequate support to enable them to focus on their core responsibilities.
- The post holder will contribute to the on-going implementation of the Trust’s nursing, midwifery and corporate objectives, developing the service and nursing/ midwifery roles to meet the evolving needs of patients and families.
- The individual will undertake the key functions of the Matron Role ensuring the patient experience in wards/ departments is of the highest possible standard at all times with particular emphasis on the provision of dignified and compassionate care which is delivered in a safe and clean environment.
- The post holder will work with the Divisional Nurse/ Head of Midwifery and the Senior Management Team in developing and implementing a divisional strategy to achieve the Trust’s objectives and ensure that effective governance arrangements are implemented and maintained.

You will have extensive experience of caring for patients, good clinical and management skills along with well-developed ability to communicate and support colleagues, patients and their families throughout their care, treatment and follow up.
