It’s an exciting time to join us, we go live on the 31stMarch 2023 with the new Mental Health Crisis line which is part of the 111 NHS Service.

We have a number of Band 6 opportunities full and part
- time roles to join our innovative and welcoming team.

The role of the Mental Health Crisis line is to offer support and sign posting via the telephone to clients who are not currently receiving care and treatment from KMPT services.

This is a critical role within the organisation as the first point of contact for those contacting secondary mental health care.

The service operates across the full 24/7 period.

The shift pattern consists of Early (0730hrs - 1530hrs), Middle (1000hrs - 1800hrs) Late (1400hrs - 2200hrs) and Night (2000hrs - 0800hrs) shifts.

We provide bespoke support and induction training to enable clinicians to develop their skills in Mental Health telephone screening.

As a clinician you will be supporting the Band 3 Health advisors, taking over the calls when clinical decisions are required to be made.

The role supports the telephone liaison between KMPT, GP’s, UTC Clinicians, Paramedics on Scene and 111 clinicians ensuring a smooth pathway for the clients.

Answer telephone calls in an efficient, courteous, professional and non-judgemental manner.

Demonstrate the skills to professionally communicate information to users and carers regarding personal and social needs in an empathic and supportive way.

Ensure all callers receive the correct response by following the appropriate service policies and procedures.

Effectively manage caller’s expectations whilst providing correct and accurate information at all times.

Record all data accurately and update The Trusts electronic patient record accordingly.

Understand and appreciate the need to adapt when there are barriers to communication.

Take account of the cultural needs in communication with everyone, including work colleagues.

React constructively to changing circumstances and support colleagues to adapt to changing circumstances by good role modelling and being a positive change agent.

Support the Line Manger in ensuring that policy and policy changes are implemented across the Mental Health Crisis Line.
