**Contract/Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week**

Fairtrade Foundation are recruiting for a Head of Strategy & Planning to play a critical role in delivering the strategic direction of the Fairtrade Foundation. As we begin to approach the end of our current strategy in 2025, and look to shape our next strategic cycle beginning in 2026, it is an exciting, pivotal time to join the Fairtrade Foundation. We are looking for an experienced planner to support the development and oversee the execution of our strategic ambitions, working across the organisation to guide, challenge and provide support on effective delivery.

You will lead the Strategy & Planning team, a small, talented group responsible for strategic planning and implementation, design and project management of critical strategic initiatives and the delivery of organisational governance ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will need to be an exceptional relationship builder at all levels of an organisation and an independent thinker able and willing to challenge the status quo. You will be intellectually curious and excited by the opportunity to understand and work across a wide range of content areas. You will be achievement and action orientated with the ability to take initiative, galvanise action in others and prioritise and deliver against demanding goals within tight timelines and against high stakeholder expectations. You will need to be comfortable translating ambiguity into tangible actions and measurable progress, and excited by the opportunity to drive increased performance.

Role Purpose

Key responsibilities

**Strategy Development**
- Support the Associate Director of Strategy & Planning and wider Senior Leadership Team to develop the organisational strategy for the Fairtrade Foundation.
- Support leadership to identify and understand the implications of change in the external landscape that could impact strategic direction and bring new thinking to Leadership’s attention, keeping abreast of relevant external trends and developments.
- Support a culture of collaboration in strategy development, ensuring appropriate internal and external involvement and input into strategy work.

Lead adhoc critical strategic projects of high priority.
