**Job title**: Payroll and Pensions Officer

**Location**: Stockport, Greater Manchester

**Hours**: Full time (37.5 per week) or Part time (Optional)

**Salary**: £25,000 - £27,000 FT salary (Part time will be the pro rata equivalent)

**The role**
- As our Payroll and Pensions Officer you will be an integral member of our Finance team and work alongside our HR and Recruitment team.
- You will take responsibility for running our payroll and supporting with other tasks required.

**Duties of the role**
- Be responsible for running a payroll system for circa 60/70 PAYE employees (this figure will grow in line with the needs of the business)
- Liaise with both the Finance Manager and HR & Recruitment manager with regards to changes such as new starters and salary changes
- Use our fully integrated HR and Payroll system on a day to day basis
- Download Pension reports and upload schedules into Nest ensuring new starters are added and leavers removed
- Process leavers holiday pay
- Submit EPS and FPS for 2 payrolls to HMRC
- Check tax code notifications for all employees weekly and monthly in order to update records
- Provide Adhoc payroll advice for all employees, discussing with Finance Manager/HR Manager if needed
- Actively contribute to the implementation of processes and procedures to improve service delivery
- Take responsibility for day to day administrative processes as allocated by the Finance Manager

Working both independently and as part of a team, planning and prioritising to achieve agreed objectives including deadlines for timely payments processing. Adhering to all regulations relating to the administration of the deduction of Court Orders, student Loans, salary sacrifice schemes etc and collation of data to support monthly/ year-end returns.

**Requirements**:

- Previous knowledge or experience of working on a fully integrated payroll system
- Experience of completing a HMRC submission
- Strong knowledge of pensions and tax codes
- Strong knowledge of all statutory requirements relating to payments and deductions including knowledge PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP pension legislation
