Permanent - Accounts Assistant - Chesham
- This is a permanent accounts assistant position based in Chesham
**About Our Client**:
My client is a market leader in facilities management, environmental and diamond drilling services.
**Key responsibilities include**:
General Accounting
a. Purchase Ledger
b. Personal expense control
c. Company Charge/Credit Cards/Debit Cards
d. Manage company Fuel Cards
f. Nominal Ledger - postings, balance sheet reconciliations
g. Banking
h. Monthly Management Account routines
i. Maintain Asset Register
J. Balance Sheet Reconciliations
k. Sales Ledger
Payroll (PAYE & CIS)
a. Weekly Payroll, liaise with Bureau, ledger postings
b. HMRC tax routines & reconciliation. P60's etc
d. Pension management (Peoples Pension)
e. Weekly payroll for CIS Employees
f. Payment of fines/parking charges and consequent charge back
Controllership
a. Maintain Confirmed Works schedule
b. Record goods prices from different suppliers to identify which is competitive.
c. Raise opportunities and contracts on Easy bop using correct and relevant information.
d. Job Costing routines and reporting
e. Prepare a WIP schedule monthly, ensuring completed jobs invoiced
f. Prepare and submit VAT returns on a quarterly basis.
g. Review and report on the profitability of contracts.
h. Monthly Profit Estimates
**The Successful Applicant**:
- Experience in a similar role with SME
- Sound, all-round General Accounting & Finance experience
- Proficient MS Office skills
- Good accuracy and numeracy skills
- Good organisational and recording skills
- Stable, reliable, takes ownership, uses initiative.
- Self-motivated, honest, adaptable, hard working.
- Responsive to change.
- Quick and willing to learn, wishes to progress, helpful and cooperative.
- Good communicator who works well in a small group.
- A self-critical, well organised, team player.
- Commercially aware
