**An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Early Years professional to become our new Industry Placement Coach**

It’s an amazing time at The Sheffield College. Recently rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, we’re in an exciting period of growth and innovation as we look forward to delivering new qualifications and developing our curriculum to ensure learners are fully prepared for a bright future in the Early Years sector.

As Industry Placement Coach, you’ll have an excellent opportunity to take the operational lead and build on the good work already achieved in the Early Years and Childcare department. You will play a vital role in developing learners’ occupational skills, ensuring that they thrive in supportive yet challenging work experience placements.

**Day-to-day you will be responsible for**:

- Sourcing and organising a wide range of industry placements
- Vetting industry placements in line with health and safety policy
- Supporting learners in class to prepare for industry placements
- Monitoring learner progress in the achievement of occupational competencies
- Assessing learners in the workplace through observation of practice
- Working closely with academic tutors to ensure effective delivery of programmes
- Championing our commitment to putting students first
- Promoting our values of fairness, respect and equality

**After your time in-post, success would look like**:

- All courses on track to achieve or exceed national benchmarks for retention and pass rates
- Excellent feedback from both learners and their settings on the quality of industry placements
- Learners are highly employable and progress to exciting careers in the sector

- Be an experienced Early Years/Childcare professional who is qualified to assess occupational competencies
- Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve excellent outcomes for learners
