Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Worker

Salary £35,500

Location - Chelmsford

Contract - Full-Time or Part -Time

Hours - 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday or part-time

The ECL Sensory Service is a dynamic team of sensory professionals dedicated to improving services for sensory impaired people across the county of Essex.

Since 2009 the team has delivered a range of services for people who have sight, hearing or dual sensory loss across Essex. These include services provided on behalf of Essex County Council including an all-age Coordination centre offering information, advice and guidance, sensory registration, CVI ring-backs, specialist assessments, provision of equipment and visual impairment rehabilitation.

New services developed include the Sensory Access Charter Mark, Sensory Awareness Training and Sighted Guide and Communicator Guide Services. Our objective is to develop a society where people with sensory impairments have the same access to services and businesses as everyone else.

**To be considered, you need**:

- BTEC Level 4 professional diploma in rehabilitation studies (Visual Impairments) or the Diploma of Higher Education in Rehabilitation Studies and experience of working with adults with Sensory impairments.
- **Experience of working with adults with sensory needs**:

- Knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures in relation to specialised area of work, i.e. sensory impaired adults.
- Ability to make and implement appropriate decisions in relation to day-to-day queries referrals and allocation in line with best practise
- Ability to identify objectives and outcomes and the means to achieve them.
- To be able to manage own caseload effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively with other agencies and groups in enhancing service delivery to sensory impaired people.
- Valid driving licence and car, or access to a car and driver
