There are an estimated 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK. Roughly 400,000 people are told the news that they have cancer each year, and over 8,500 per year in Norfolk and Waveney alone. Since 1980 Big C has been dedicated to the fight against cancer. We help thousands of people affected by cancer across our county, whilst working with key partners in research and healthcare to improve future outcomes.

Big C’s charitable work focuses on four key areas:

- supporting people affected by cancer
- funding world-class local research into cancer
- providing vital medical equipment and facilities in the county’s main acute hospital trusts
- providing interventional and presentational education programmes for the general public and healthcare professionals.

**About the role**

As our **full-time Fundraising and Events Coordinator, ** you will join our small but busy Fundraising Marketing & Communications team. In this interesting and varied role, you will help Big C achieve its income generation targets, primarily through supporting and coordinating successful events while developing positive internal and external relationships across Big C’s fundraising and events activities. You will act as an ambassador for Big C, Cancer Charity promoting awareness and endorsing the aims and objectives of Big C.

You will be based at Big C’s office in Centrum, a bright and modern building on Norwich Research Park. The team are currently working a hybrid of home and office allowing some flexibility in working hours. Additionally travel across East Anglia will be required to work from other Big C premises and to attend events from time to time.

The hours of work are **35 hours per week**, predominantly Monday to Friday but some evening and weekend working will be required.
