**Volunteer/Onboarding Assistant**
**Salary Range**: Circa £23,000 per annum FTE (37 hours per week)
**Contracted Hours**: 37 per week
**Location / Base**: Hybrid working with an expectation of 1 day (as required) in the Pembury or Battle office each week and travel to other sites/charity shops as required

**SCOPE**
- Responsible for the provision of quality, accurate information, guidance and support through the onboarding process of new starters, including the coordination of volunteers to all parts of the charity. To support the delivery of the People Department’s strategy.
**VOLUNTEER COORDINATION RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Liaise with services and other departments to deliver their part of the program.
- Support the generation of appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the charity.
- Raise staff awareness of the role and the function of volunteers.
- Promote volunteering (internally and externally) through recruitment and publicity strategies and campaigns.
- Celebrate volunteering by nominating volunteers for awards and organise celebration events.
- Working with the recruitment specialists, organise profile-raising events to attract new volunteers.
- Support the interviewing and recruitment of volunteers and ensure they are appropriately matched and trained for a position.
- Support the monitoring, support, motivation and accreditation of volunteers and their work.
- Keep up to date with legislation and policy related to volunteering and make any necessary modifications to accommodate changes.
- Maintain databases and undertake any other administrative duties
**GENERAL PEOPLE DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Alongside other team members, respond speedily to new queries to the shared inboxes (recruitment and volunteers) while redirecting, if necessary, to other members of the department.
- Support with the onboarding of new starters, including requesting references, DBS and other checks.
- Assist the Recruitment Advisors with other recruitment tasks as required.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times, working to support the People Department’s strategy.
- Regularly contribute to the People Department as a whole, supporting peaks in activity, recommending improvements to systems and procedures to improve efficiency in the department and supporting the Director of People in developing the department’s strategic role.
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters, adhering to Data Protection legislation at all times.
