**Contract**: Fixed term until 31st March 2025

Do you enjoy working with young people, and making a difference?

We are looking to confident person to join our team as a Youth Engagement worker. You seek out, and provide support for, young people pre and post 16 years, providing them with confidence and skills to be successful in the next phase of their lives.

Support will include 1:1 and group work activities in community settings across Oldham and Rochdale. The Youth Engagement worker will work closely with Career Advisers and other Youth Engagement Workers to develop creative methods to engage and work with young people to help them to achieve positive outcomes. Vital to the job role, is the ability to relate to and communicate with our young people effectively, many of whom will be experiencing significant barriers. The role also includes working to targets and establishing good relationships with schools, colleges, learning providers, employers and key partners.

You would be expected to travel throughout Oldham and Rochdale and the role may include some home working.

**Closing Date**: Monday 12th February 2024 at 1pm

**Interviews**: Monday 19th and Wednesday 21st February 2024

**JOB PURPOSE**

To provide support for young people to enable them to move into education, employment and training (EET) or to sustain a EET opportunity

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide activities and interventions for young people to improve EET outcomes
- Provide activities and interventions for young people in line with relevant legislation, quality standards and best practice to safeguard the service
- Maintain relationships with other professionals to improve outcomes for young people
- To undertake accurate, timely recording using digital case load management systems to meet contract requirements
- Undertake any other duties in order to meet service and organisational objectives following consultation with your manager

- Demonstrable experience of working with young people

- Awareness of Education and Guidance Services
- Awareness of safeguarding legislation and guidance, implementation of Child Protection and vulnerable adult Procedures and the boundaries of professional relationships
- Awareness of adolescent development
- Understanding of Health & Safety legal requirements and best practice

**Skills**
- Primary skills in engaging, supporting and motivating young people
- Primary communication and presentational skills
- Primary skills in creativity and original thinking with the ability to develop practical solutions to problems
- Primary inter -personal and team working skills
- Basic skills in literacy and numeracy
- Primary skills in Microsoft Office and database systems
