**Job Overview**

We’re looking for an Assistant SHE Business Partner to support Places for London - TfL’s new and financially independent property company. The role will provide tactical SHE support for the business area and will involve working closely with the SHE Business Partners and an element of active liaison with front line teams / managers to ensure that they are meeting TfL’s SHE requirements.

This role requires the post holder to support Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) business partners provide support to the business. It will ensure SHE requirements are met, improvements are identified and completed and those in the business are competent and provided with tools to manage SHE.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Support the implementation of the SHE strategy in business areas
- Provide support to SHE Business Partners to coach the business to understand their SHE accountabilities and challenge to improve their performance.
- Understand performance trends and be able to support business areas to understand and track performance against these.
- Support SHE Business Partners to provide technical advice, best practice, and learning to the business.
- Accountable for developing and delivering tactical projects to improve SHE performance.
- Understand SHE risks for respective business areas.
- Support with conducting second line assurance activity.
- To identify areas for continual SHE improvement, including supporting the development and embedment of effective tools and processes.
- To support business areas to use the SHE management system.
- To support with the distribution of SHE communications.
- To support the evaluation of bids for contracts and services, including supplier SHE performance to ensure competent suppliers.
- Be a champion and advocate for safety, health & environment in everything they do, role modelling what it means to make safety, health and environment personal.

**Knowledge**
- An understanding of the Mayor's Transport Strategy and TfL's business priorities
- Basic knowledge of external regulatory requirements and safety and environmental related standards and legislation
- Good knowledge of TfL’s SHE Management system
- An understanding of engineering, operational and business management requirements in a safety critical environment

**Skills**
- Ability to understand performance data and trends and explain the underlying meaning to the business
- Collaboration skills, including working across organisational boundaries
- Strong communication (written verbal and presentation) and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a highly pressurised environment to very tight time constraints and to a high standard
- Ability to work at pace and make things happen

**Experience**
- Experience of working in SHE-conscious environment
- Experience in using performance data to support decision making
- Experience of working with stakeholders to deliver business improvements which have lasting results
- Experience in advising customers or stakeholders, both face to face and in writing
- Experience in coaching and training for management of SHE
