Medical Records Archiving Clerk - Full time - 37.5 hours

Transform is a leading provider of independent healthcare offering cosmetic and weight loss procedures in addition to other procedures which include orthopaedic, gynae and new emerging services.

Due to a significant build up of archived paper medical records, a new role has arisen as Medical Records Archiving Clerk based within the Pines Hospital, South Manchester.

The postholder will play a significant role in the reduction of the current archived paper records as the company looks to electronically archive its older medical records.

The role:

- To provide an efficient and effective medical records archiving service to the hospital.
- Be able to work on own initiative, prioritising work within defined policies and procedures to achieve the expected timescales for archiving.
- Postholder shall firstly deconstruct paper files to allow the paper documents to scan easily.
- Carry out order of paper files in line with directions
- Scan documents scanned to the 'cloud' thereafter checking for completeness and
accuracy.
- Create, label and record new e
- medical files
- Arrange for destruction of original paper files.
- Carry out all duties in line with principles of information governance and patient confidentiality to all aspects of the role

The person
- Should be hard working, organised with good time management skills and have the ability to work with close attention to detail
- Should have good literacy and communication skills
- Experience of working in a team environment but with ability to work alone.
- Ability to communicate clearly, confidently and professionally of the phone and face to face
- Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively with ability to consistently deliver required medical records on time.
- IT literacy is essential.
- Postholder should be comfortable dealing with repetitive tasks.
