**The ACE Programme**

We are looking for ambitious, curious individuals who are motivated for a career in professional services to join the firm in September 2023, with a view to complete a 2-year apprenticeship in one of our legal and business support areas.

The **A**pprenticeship **C**areer **E**xcellence programme is a structured scheme, combining paid work experience with a qualification suited to your chosen area, lasting for two years in length.

Throughout the apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to learn business skills, develop your professional network, gain practical experience and work on exciting projects with experienced professionals who are dedicated to your development and progression.

**The Team**

The PR and communications team comprises of internal and external communications focussed colleagues. We are friendly and collaborative working alongside the wider BD & Marketing team based in London, Manchester and Belfast.

**Apprentice Responsibilities**

**Interesting and career building**

**_ Internal communications_**
- Writing internal comms articles and press releases
- Design and execute fun engagement activities including comms plan for London/UK
- Build relationships with international marketing teams, Business services, Just Purpose, Facilities teams
- Helping Internal comms and digital to devise and create multimedia content for internal audiences

**_ External communications _**
- Media research for the PR team
- Pitching to journalists and writing media briefing notes for partners
- Develop proficient use of PR database and creation of press mailing lists
- Attending press briefings and reporting back on key findings
- Creating news alerts and monitoring press coverage on specific topics
- Supporting senior PR team members on implementation on PR plans
- Organising media training and setting up media meetings.

**Creative and learning new skills**
- Learn to use the Canva graphic design platform for images to use on social media, website, intranet, documents, presentations
- Learn to use video communications from story boarding to recording with a colleague
- Learn how to create and distribute podcasts
- Power point and presentation skills - IT training and on the job
- Basic - intermediate Microsoft Excel skills - IT training and on the job
- Basic web page layout skills and ability to use our CMS systems confidently

**Administrative and character building**
- Updating intranet pages, website pages and changing broken links
- Maintaining media lists and press cuttings for the PR team

**A bit about you**
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths grades 5 - 9 (A - C)
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Curiosity and flexibility
- Eagerness to learn
- Driven, determined for a career in professional services
- A good understanding of our firm and our values

**The following key skills are not essential but would be advantageous**:

- Creative writing with good proofreading skills and attention to detail
- Photography/video recording & scripting
- Content Management systems or blogging experience
- Basic photo editing skills on Canva, photoshop etc.
