Befriending Admin Support Volunteer

2 hours per week - during office hours at an agreed time / day.

SHYP House, 1 Barnack Rd, Stamford, PE9 2NA

Evergreen has over 50 Volunteer Befrienders who make an amazing difference in people’s lives. The team is led by our Befriending Leads. The Befriending Admin Support Volunteer will help the Befriending Leads with the administration and support of the volunteer Befrienders. This key role enables Evergreen to support and serve our Befrienders and Befriendees. It is primarily an office based role working with a fun and friendly team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Updating the Befriender Quick Reference Sheet (on Excel)
- Contacting Befriender and Befriendee by telephone to complete reviews
- Updating new Befrienders on potential matches
- Coordinating visits
- Updating Evergreen’s internal database
- Always work within Evergreen’s values and represent the charity in a professional and friendly manner

Key relationships:

- Working with the Befriending Team Leads & Volunteer Services Manager
- Working with Evergreen reception and other staff
- Working alongside other Volunteer Groups within the Trust
- Working closely with new potential volunteers

Skills, Qualifications and experience required:

- No formal qualifications are required. If you have an office based administration background this is ideal.
- Essential Skills: IT skills / computer literate. Good oral and written communication; Able to maintain confidentiality. Excellent telephone manner. Attention to detail. Good listening skills.
- A friendly, caring approach to support our volunteer Befrienders & Befriendees

Training and support required:
Mandatory Online Safeguarding training

Full on the job training will be provided on all aspects of the role

Invitation to attend relevant training courses as and when they are arranged.

Availability of parking at work location:
Limited parking at Evergreen Care Office in Stamford. Street parking in surrounding roads is available.

Any necessary equipment will be provided
