Volunteer role:
Events Volunteer

Reports to:
Volunteer Manager

Commitment level:
Flexible. Ad hoc - choose events to take part in (events can be at a variety of times)

**Location**:
Events are in Stamford, Bourne, The Deepings and surrounding villages

Purpose of the Voluntary role:
Evergreen Care Trust holds a number of events each year. These events raise awareness of the services we offer to older and vulnerable people in the community and raise funds for the charity. Events are mixed and varied and could be anything from a stall at a local festival, a tea party, fun runs, working with local schools, an annual ball. helping with our Christmas Cracker raffle, a table at the local library, working with other community groups. We aim for our events to be professional and fun.

Key Responsibilities:
Set up for events.

On occasions helping to serve refreshments

On occasions cash handling e.g selling raffle tickets

Promote the events locally

Tidy away at the end of the event

Help to plan events

Follow Health & Safety Guidance

Complete any administration re the event

Uphold the values of Evergreen Care Trust

Represent Evergreen in a friendly and professional manner at all times

Key relationships:
Working with other volunteers in the Events team

Engaging effectively and professionally with the general public

Working with Community Groups, Venues

Working with Members of Evergreen Staff

Working alongside other Volunteer Groups within the Trust

Skills, Qualifications and experience required:
If you have experience planning, setting up and running events that is great but not essential.

It is essential you have good communication skills, are friendly, professional and comfortable engaging with the general public.

Enthusiasm and being a ‘people person’ are essential.

IT literacy

Training and support required:
Online Safeguarding training is compulsory.

Introduction session to the role of an Advocate

Shadow an existing Advocate

Regular updates and support from ‘the Advocacy team’

Invitation to attend relevant training courses as and when they are arranged.

Availability of parking at work location:
Parking is usually available at Events.

Equipment:
Any equipment required for Events will be supplied.

N/A
