Head of Commercial Contracts

Reporting to our Company Secretary and Group Legal Counsel the Head of Commercial Contracts will support the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), in driving our growth agenda, shaping better customer propositions, and creating highly effective and lean salesand service organisations. All of this with a clear alignment to Simplyhealth’s core purpose; to improve access to healthcare, for the many, for the long term.
The Head of Commercial Contracts will be required to lead a number of commercial contracting activities in order to inform decision making and strategic planning. These activities shall include all aspects of procurement, vendor selection and management,contract shaping and negotiation, costing and modelling, including governance and approval. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring all financial, legal and regulatory requirements are fulfilled.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Provide commercial, strategic and operational business advice to the General Counsel, the CFO and the wider business.
- Assess the impact of significant changes in internal and/or external factors such as competitor behaviour, market trends, consumer behavioural trends, economic and regulatory changes on commercial contract positions and suggest approaches to mitigate orenhance business outcomes.
- Reporting to various committees in accordance with our Governance Framework.
- To support the development of long term strategic partnerships that contribute to the success of the business strategy - from first point of contact through to embedding partners as a part of BAU.
- Support cost optimisation programmes, to enable teams to best understand how to deliver and support propositions going forward.
- Analyse business performance, (e.g. Product pricing and new product development) to understand how are they performing vs contracted positions and to review what is needed to achieve targets and proactively drive change across all functions.
