The Operations Supervisor leads the operations team, utilising the plumbing and heating, electrical and Air Conditioning departments. This department is responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of all aspects of plumbing, electrical and general building services in both residential and commercial buildings. In their day to day duties they will be directly responsible to the Operations Director and all queries relating to these duties should be addressed to them. This Supervisor routinely works directly with the electrical and plumbing division engineers, other managers and clients to ensure customer satisfaction while meeting departmental goals and objectives. Presenting themselves as a company representative, the Operations Supervisor often communicates directly with customers and suppliers to ensure accurate communication of job or project status and requirements.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

The Operations Supervisor directs daily operations of the Operations Department by successfully performing the following tasks, duties and responsibilities:

- Schedules and directs the engineers to meet service demands and customer’s expectations
- Assists with recruitment, interviews, hires and trains new Operations co-ordinators and other team members as required to meet workload demands, and company or customer expectations and requirements
- Supervises and directs the Operations team to effectively perform the functions of the department as well as assisting with other duties as required to ensure customer satisfaction
- Reviews Operations team work to ensure quality meets established company standards; reporting to the Operations Director as required
- To assist the Operations Director with the Operations team performance appraisals, reviews and for setting improvement goals per company requirements
- Regularly relay information on the performance of the Operations Team to the Operations Directors to ensure that current requirements are being met.
- Communicates regularly with the Mechanical, Electrical and Air Conditioning departments and other managers to ensure that personnel are being scheduled properly by skill level, efficiency and training requirements
- Communicates daily with engineer team to assist with job management to assist with keeping company standards.
- Communicates daily with the Plumbing and electrical Division, and other managers, reporting on project information, estimated time to complete jobs, labour hours and parts or material used
- Maintains communication with suppliers and representatives concerning warranty issues, product recall notices, operational problems with products, premature failures and other issues.
- Reviews work orders, purchase invoices and time reports for accuracy, and invoice clients in a timely and accurate manner.

- Specifies and makes sure that required parts are ordered in timely fashion to ensure work deadlines are met
- Ensures that all company/department policies are being followed by all Operations team members
- Other tasks and responsibilities as required to maintain efficient Operations department

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

The Operations Supervisor should possess the following skills, characteristics and abilities:

- Excellent customer service and sales skills
- Three years Management related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Some post-secondary education from college or trade school.
- Exhibit knowledge and basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems
- Technical aptitude with knowledge of current systems and an ability to use resources at hand to find solutions
- Good leadership skills to enhance team productivity and standards of work produced
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and strong conflict management skills
- Detail oriented and highly organised with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments
- Possess a strong personal desire for improvement; and the desire to motivate Operations co-ordinators and other staff members
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability and willingness to work non-standard hours with prior agreeance, as/if required
- Ability to work in a pressured environment, in relation to time constraints, customer demands and operational issues.

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
