Maintenance Person

For this role, we need someone who is flexible, approachable and friendly and loves fixing things. You will take pride in everything you do - whether it’s painting and decorating, keeping the outside of the building and grounds of our hotels looking good, fixing a broken toilet in a guest room or day-to-day jobs like changing light bulbs.
Attention to detail is imperative and you must be willing and able to perform a wide range of tasks.
The role includes:
Plumbing, electrical and joinery work, painting and decorating and Health & Safety responsibilities along with a myriad of other maintenance tasks so there is no lack of variety
We expect you to:
- Carry out day-to-day maintenance both inside and outside the hotels.
- Keep the hotels in good decorative order.
- Be familiar with basic plumbing and electrical procedures.
- Attend to issues recorded in the maintenance book in a timely manner.
- Carry out Health and Safety tasks (fire safety; legionella tests etc).
- Liaise with other departments and outside contractors.
- Have good time management and be able to work to deadlines.
- Be willing to build on existing skills and knowledge.
You will have experience in all of the above, preferably with a background as a tradesperson or you will have been in a similar role already.
This is a permanent position and hours of work will vary between 25 - 40hrs per week. Weekend working may be required on occasion but this is not common.
Rate of pay is £11.50 - £12.00 per hour depending on experience.
