- Public Protection
- PSD (Professional Standards Department)
- Crime Support
- EMSOU (East Midlands Special Operations Unit)

The role is vast and the opportunities to investigate are endless. You could be dealing with robbery one day only to be confronted with a potential murder the next. DSI's play an important role in helping victims find closure, and bringing offenders to justice.

Once accredited to PiP1, you’ll then work on your gaining your PiP2 accreditation, for which you’ll be required to pass the National Investigators Exam (NIE). The whole process from starting as a DSI will take around 2-3 years until you are accredited to PiP2.

Once fully accredited, DSI’s can be moved between departments to enhance skills, and share investigative experience, therefore applicants must be willing to work flexibly in terms of location, hours and placement. A full UK Driving Licence must also be held.

Due to the nature of security checks required you must have 5 years continuous residency in the UK.

So if you’re looking for a role that will be both challenging and fulfilling, where you will really make a difference, please review the attached Job Description fully for the requirements of the role, and click to apply.
