Milestone Infrastructure is the UKs leading highways maintenance provider. Looking after 48000 km of roads, 300,000 lighting assets and 20,000 miles of footways, always with a view to ensuring that all works are carried out as sustainably as possible and with mínimal impact to local communities.

This apprenticeship is an 18-month program, that will develop your practical, technical and soft-skills with Health & Safety at the heart of everything you do. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will gain a Highways Maintenance Skilled Operative Level 2 qualification, a permanent opportunity, and a long-term career.

**What will the apprentice be doing?**
- Highways Maintenance (e.g. pothole repairs, grass cutting, winter gritting services)
- Providing traffic management for a diversity of projects.
- Working as part of our multi-disciplined teams to deliver innovative solutions to highways maintenance.

**What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?**

At the end of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded a Level 2 Highways Maintenance Skilled Operative Apprenticeship

Depending on your location you will be required to travel to college on block release with fellow apprentices and stay in a hotel for your relaxation time.

**What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?**

As a Milestone Apprentice, you will be recruited on a permanent contract and after completing your apprenticeship you will be promoted into the business. You will also have further development opportunity through professional qualification or training courses.

**Desired skills and personal qualities**

Communication skills, IT skills, Number skills, Team working, Physical fitness.

**To be eligible for this role you MUST have**:

- GCSE or equivalent English & Maths (Grade Grades A* to C or 9 to 4)
- The Right to Work in the UK
- Lived in the UK for 3+ years

You will learn all of the skills necessary for this Highway Maintenance apprenticeship, through a combination of formal training and practical experience. You will work in a team alongside our highly experienced colleagues, and you will benefit from their knowledge and their support on a daily basis.
