Position Summary
Bury Council is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to oversee our Highways Service. The selected candidate will collaborate with the Head of Engineering & Streetscene to provide strategic guidance on Highways Service operations.
As the Highways Service Manager, you will:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Highways Service, including management of in-house operational personnel, supervisors, highway inspectors, engineers, and support staff.
- Offer strategic direction on all facets of highway maintenance.
- Work in partnership with Asset & Network Management teams.
- Ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery.
It is essential that you are self-driven, capable of working autonomously, and able to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and meet deadlines effectively.

Working Hours
Normal working hours are 37 hours per week, aligned with standard business operations, including attendance at evening meetings as required by the service.
