Work on own initiative and exercise judgement in work that is required for all aspects of the role in respect to priority that is needed for the organisation and its wider partners. Support the SEND Health and Partnership team to deliver against agreed metrics, demonstrating improvement where appropriate. Provide timely advice, information, or support to internal and external stakeholders regarding the duties and responsibilities of the post, adhering to policies, legislation, governance requirements and best practice guidance. Prioritise communications to ensure urgent matters are addressed by appropriate colleagues and take responsibility for dealing with the complex matters personally using negotiation and reassurance skills.
The post holder will have ability to communicate information in a clear and concise manner. Gain co-operation and agreement from stakeholders, using effective communication skills including a degree of negotiation, persuasion, or motivation skills where appropriate. Manage sensitive, complex and confidential information appropriately recording, transferring and/or co-ordinating such information in accordance with the Data Protection Act and the Health EHCP DPIA (Data Protection Impact Assessment) Make judgements on a range of issues relating to the role, using own expertise and within responsibility level. Resolve day-to-day problems independently, using own judgment and analysis of the situation to come to a decision where there are several options available.
Exercise judgement to respond, take messages or delegate as appropriate, ensuring issues of concern are dealt with immediately and brought to the attention of the relevant parties. Undertaking quality assurance audits as per the Health and Local Authority Quality Assurance Frameworks to provide assurance regarding the quality of health advice/EHCPs. Identify, communicate and take appropriate action in relation to strengths and areas for improvement. Plan and manage own workload to weekly, monthly, and annual timescales to ensure continuity and delivery of duties and responsibilities.
Plan and co-ordinate meetings, programmes or events from both internal and/or external organisations and stakeholders. Contribute to setting the direction and ambition of the team, ensuring all members have clarity of purpose and that the work of the team meets the statutory duties outlined in the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and the Childrens and Families Act (2014). Produce timely and specific reports, papers and analysis using prolonged concentration and the appropriate IT. For example, producing accurate reports regarding EHCP compliance, key themes and trends and Quality Assurance, detailing areas of strength, areas of improvement and actions plans to address any identified weaknesses.
Develop policies and protocols for own area of work which impact across wider projects, service area and areas outside of the SEND Health team. Propose changes to own projects and service initiative work, to inform policy and make recommendations for more effectively delivery. Develop and deliver training in relation to improving the quality and timeliness of health advice in EHCPs, including Initial Assessments and Annual Reviews and also in relation to Healths role in SEND Effectively and efficiently use and maintain more than one information systems and databases relevant to function and project as a key responsibility of the role. Maintain quality and content of data held within information systems and maintaining systems and resources both electronically and paper based as required Liaise regularly with a wide range of people and agencies, internally and externally, at all levels.
