**Job description**:
Strengthening and levelling up the Union is a priority for the Government. The Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland Team is committed to ensuring the Department delivers for people throughout the United Kingdom; by helping to drive change and through providing support and advice on department-wide Union issues.

The team manages the department’s relationship with the Scottish and Welsh Governments and the Northern Ireland Executive and provides advice and strategic direction to the rest of the department on national devolution matters. The devolved administrations are now mature legislatures and are responsible for a wide range of transport powers, so the team has the challenging role of ensuring that the UK Government delivers for the people of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland while respecting the devolution settlements.

To help meet these challenges, the division is also responsible for improving capability and knowledge within the department and ensuring processes and policy development takes account of the social and political drivers which help strengthen the Union.

- Assisting in the identification and maintenance of an extensive and useful network across Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, including with the devolved administrations, local authorities and a range of other stakeholders.
- Supporting the building and maintaining of good networks with devolution policy teams in DLUHC, HMT, Cabinet Office, Territorial Offices and Departmental modal leads.
- Gathering data and information which can be analysed for key trends, insights, and issues.
- Providing day to day support to the team by identifying, collecting and collating relevant news stories.
