**Additional Support Needs Co-ordinator - The Role**:
As an experienced childcare practitioner, you will create openings for parents and children to develop relationships, self-esteem, and resourcefulness through the delivery of targeted support. You will put provision in place to ensure that progress of children with additional needs improves relative to those without additional needs.

You will work with children that may need additional support both long -and short term to help then through a difficult period.

**Main Duties**
- Work with children who require additional support at any given time.
- Work with children, the service leadership team, parents, and relevant external agencies to develop, implement and monitor individual support/learning plans.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of the service strategy and policy.
- Conduct assessments of children with additional needs to identify and monitor progress - including observations in the playroom and meeting with key workers and parents.
- Work with Early Years Educators, the service leadership team, parents, and relevant external agencies to develop, implement and monitor individual support/learning plans.
- Provide regular updates on children’s progress through written reports and meetings with parents.
- Make referrals and consult with professionals outside of the service - this could include psychologists, health and social care providers, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists.
- provide advice, guidance, and training to key workers on supporting children with additional needs.

**Additional Support Needs Co-ordinator - What we need from you**:
We are looking for a fully qualified Early Years Educator who is positive, fervent, and enthusiastic about supporting children to be the best they can be.

If you are a collaborator, with a caring and kindly personality, who is dependable, accountable, and able to build close relationships with children and their families then we want to hear from you.

**Essential**
- Educated to level 3 or above with a recognised professional qualification in early years education or equivalent.
- Experience of supplying a programme of care and play activities for children with additional needs.
- Have proven organisational skills and project management.
- Have knowledge and understanding of current legislature and best practice documents.

In addition, you will need to be flexible and resourceful, with a strong commitment to delivering first class childcare.

All staff and volunteers are expected to demonstrate their commitment to safeguarding children and young people within their work.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the criteria for registration with Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and the Scottish Social Services Council.

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
