We are looking for an individual to lead the HR function for this well-established charity, We are at an exciting time in our development, and this post will be critical in the expansion of wellbeing initiatives, improved HR systems, employee engagement and learning development to support the Trust's ambitious plans.

Managing a small HR department, the post has responsibility for all people functions; HR, recruitment, and learning and development. The post and team are based at our offices in Gosforth, with the ability to work from home.

**Purpose**:
As a member of the Senior Management Team the Head of Human Resources will work to maintain and build-upon a culture that has its values at the heart of everything it does and inspires its people to learn and develop their skills.

This role has full accountability for all aspects of Human Resources including learning and development and will ensure the continuing delivery of a professional, high quality service which supports the needs of the organisation now and as it grows in line with it’s ambitious plans.

**Main responsibilities**:
Lead, motivate and develop the Human Resources team to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive, professional and reliable Human Resources service which supports the organisation.

Have a thorough understanding of HR polices, employment law and CQC requirements which meets the needs of Coquet Trust, best practice and our values.

Provide high quality Human Resource advice and guidance as required.

Lead on the delivery of the core organisational initiatives such as Employee Engagement, Learning and Development, Health and Wellbeing etc. to enable Coquet Trust become an employer of choice.

Lead the implementation of a new HRIS, working with project management and across other departments.

Lead the organisations learning and development offer to staff with development opportunities, apprenticeships, induction programme and succession planning to help retain and develop staff across the whole organisation.

Lead in the setting of annual budgets for Human Resource activity and to ensure that spending within your remit is managed effectively to meet budgetary constraints.

Continually review and identify opportunities for improved methods of working within the Human Resources team to ensure efficient use of resources.

Research, review and update Human Resources policies and procedures, to ensure they are in line with current legislation, best practice and Coquet Trust values

Support Coquet Trust to become an employer of choice, by developing strong external relationships, building the Coquet Trust brand, attracting and retaining staff with an innovative benefit scheme.

Maintain an up to date knowledge of changes in employment legislation and best practice.

Contribute, monitor and report on the delivery of objectives and KPI’s.

Keep accurate and up to date records in line with the GDPR.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

**EDUCATION, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS**

Good standard of education with GCSE qualification (or equivalent) in Maths and English

Good IT skills with the ability to use the Microsoft Office suite

Chartered member of CIPD

Proven experience and success in a Senior HR role
