**THE ROLE**:
Stonehaven tackles some of the biggest and thorniest intellectual issues in the public sphere. We are looking for a talented, knowledgeable and driven Senior Policy Consultant with an interest in current affairs, creating societal change, and supporting business to overcome strategic challenges.

Working closely with the Director of Policy, you will develop novel policy propositions intended to change the debate in the UK on a broad array of topics, albeit with a strong focus on energy in the first instance. You will deliver these through the production of relevant products - papers, briefings and other material - to a professional standard, sometimes managing junior colleagues as part of this process. You will work to integrate these products into the wider client offer, engaging with colleagues throughout Stonehaven. Where appropriate, you will build your external profile as a policy expert.

**You will be responsible for**:

- Playing a key role in the delivery of our energy policy function, including leading the development of products for clients and developing new ideas for the market
- Line and task managing junior staff as appropriate
- Building relationships with existing and new clients, including the development of new business opportunities
- Integrating the energy policy offer into the broader work of Stonehaven

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**
***:

- Significant experience of policy work, in industry, academia, an NGO or the Civil Service.
- Evidence of significant expertise in energy policy, either through work experience or academia.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Significant project management and prioritisation skills
- A strong understanding of how a given project relates to the broader strategic picture
