We are looking to recruit a new team of Support workers, to support 4 young adults who are ready to start their exciting journey to move from college/home life to their forever home in Wrexham. The support team must ensure they can support using a low arousal approach, be enthusiastic and willing to learn who they are as individuals to meet their needs. You must be reliable, consistent and predictable to work alongside colleagues supporting with multi-sensory impairments, complex behaviours of concern and health related difficulties in their own home and the community.

They each have unique interests, likes and dislikes. Your role is to provide person-centred support to enhance quality of life. Day to day, you will use active support to encourage completion of everyday chores, going to activities, meeting friends and family, visiting health professionals, assisting with personal care while maintaining a calm and relaxing sensory environment. They each have special interest and have a predictable structure of activities which ensures they can lead a meaningful life accessing the community whilst keeping unpredictable and stressful situations to a minimum to reduce anxiety. You will provide support to learn new skills, develop use of communication aids and achieve long term goals.

We provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Shifts are a mixture of early, late, waking nights and Sleep-in’s. Full and Part time positions available.

You will need: Clear and confident communication skills, a ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to assist people with what is important to them including personal care. The ability to remain calm under pressure and a genuine interest in helping people.
