We are looking for full and part time Support Workers who want to give something back and truly want to make a difference every single day.
**What will you be doing?**
Every day as a support worker is different, but we always strive to have a positive impact on the day-to-day life of the people who draw on our support. In Wrexham, we support 15 adults with learning disabilities and autism aged 26 - 65, however for consistency, you will mainly be working with one person. Due to our current needs, we are currently looking for Female applicants only.
**Let’s meet Sarah***
Sarah always starts her day with a shower, which she does need some assistance with. From here, every day is different. Sarah loves to go shopping, buying all of the latest fashion trends. Do you have your own interests and hobbies? We are hoping that you can bring new ideas and introduce us to more things that we can do.
**Where are our services?**
We have four services in and around Wrexham - Ponciau, Ruabon, Llay and Coed-y-Glyn. We will match you to the service that we think you will fit in the best, you will not be traveling from service to service. Everyone who draws on our support have their own flat or bungalow which gives them the freedom to live their own lives.
"Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time. We appreciate your understanding."

**What do we want from you?**
We are looking for people who share our values, who are warm, friendly and willing to learn, and also who celebrate people’s differences. At MacIntyre, we strive to make all of our staff feel included, valued and respected, just like the people we support.
You don't have to have any past care experience but a kind, caring, creative and patient attitude is a must. We will train you on all the formal key skills you will need in terms of Emergency first aid, safeguarding and giving medication. We hold a number of training courses that you will be expected to attend whilst you are working with MacIntyre, but don’t worry, you will be given plenty of notice.
You must however have a resilient, patient and compassionate attitude as there may be times where you will need to help Sarah control and regulate her emotions and anxiety in line with her Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plan. But please do not worry, full training on this will be provided.
Due to the needs of the people we support and the location of our services, you must also hold a full clean manual UK driving licence, as your ability to drive unlocks opportunities for people like Sarah to do the things they really enjoy But don't worry You won't be racing between appointments.
We provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and so the ability to work bank holidays and weekends is desirable. You will be working on a shift pattern which may include regular early morning starts (7am) and late evening finishes (10pm) depending on the service you are based at.
