Support Worker Waking Nights
**Waking Nights Support Worker - 18 hours a week**:
Are you looking for night work? Would you like to support adults with learning disabilities if they wake during the night? Then this is the job for you
We are looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our friendly team of Support Workers in Wrexham Even though it is a night time position, we all know a good night’s sleep is important for how we feel the next day, so you will be making a real difference in someone’s life even when they are asleep.
We are looking for someone who can commit to 18 hours a week split over 2 nights (9 hours per shift).
**What will you be doing?**
As a Waking Nights Support Worker, your main role will be regularly checking in on the people who draw on our support whilst they sleep, making sure that everything is ok and that they are getting a good night’s sleep. Sometimes they wake-up during the night, and so you will then support them in whatever they may need. This may be reassuring and chatting with them so that they are able to go back to sleep, or providing support with personal care and medication. Most importantly, your role is to make sure the people who draw on our support are safe and do not feel vulnerable throughout the night.
You will be primarily working on your own, however, there will always be another member of staff on site to help you if you need it.
**"Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time. We appreciate your understanding."**

**What do we want from you?**
We are looking for a Support Worker who shares our values, who is warm, friendly and willing to learn, and also who celebrates people’s differences. At MacIntyre, we strive to make all of our staff feel included, valued and respected, just like the people we support.
You don't have to have any past care experience but a kind, caring, creative and patient attitude is a must. We will train you on all the formal key skills you will need in terms of Emergency first aid, safeguarding and giving medication. We hold a number of training courses that you will be expected to attend whilst you are working with MacIntyre, but don’t worry, you will be given plenty of notice.
You must however have a resilient, patient and compassionate attitude as there may be times where you will need to help someone control and regulate her emotions and anxiety in line with her Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plan. But please do not worry, full training on this will be provided.
We provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and so the ability to work bank holidays and weekends is desirable. You will be working on a shift pattern, therefore, we need you to be flexible with your availability, but we do always try and be fair when distributing shifts.
**What about pay?**
In Wrexham, MacIntyre Support Workers will earn an hourly rate of £10.90. If you hold a NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or a higher qualification, your pay will rise to £11.10 per hour. You will have the opportunity to complete these qualifications whilst working with MacIntyre. This means, on a full-time contract, your annual salary will be £21,312.23 - £21,703.28 depending on qualifications.
In addition to your annual salary, you’ll have the opportunity to work sleep-ins* at an extra £65 per night. This adds an extra £3,380 to your annual salary if you do 1 sleep in a week. There is also often overtime hours available too
