Mental Health Waking Night Support Worker

Job Introduction
Gray Healthcare recruiting a new team within the Wrexham Area to support a young gentleman in his 20's who has a diagnosis of Complex Emotional Needs and self-injurious behaviours who be living independently within his own property having 1:1 support 24 hours a day. He will be supported by a mixed gender team on mixed shifts of days and waking nights.
The individual has interest in keeping active and fit, so will require support around this from his staff team. We need people with a keen interest in the outdoors, sports and staying active for the role.
Gray Healthcare are an award-winning provider of complex care, providing a clinically informed approach and extensive, tailored training. As a new provider to this young man, we are taking a collaborative approach to his support to ensure the best outcome.
Our Psychologically Informed Therapist, alongside our specialist Occupational Therapists and Nursing team will also be working closely with the individual and his team to provide guidance, informing care plans and additional support.

We do not expect you to know everything when you join Gray Healthcare
We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training. (Company induction, systems, and Medication.)
Followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, this is a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint dominant approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. This could be PBS, epilepsy, ligature etc. and finally, you will complete shadow shifts.
Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
We typically have 12-hour shifts but there can be flexibility around this dependant on needs and requests. We have the following contracts available:
- 20.00pm-08.00am
- Waking Night Shift. We typically offer contracts of 36 or 24 hours per week.
**About you**
- You must have experience of providing support to a person with personality disorders and behaviours that may be perceived as challenging within the UK and have experience of understanding and implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
- You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. **We are unable to consider sponsorship.**
**Recruitment Process**
- Telephone Pre-screen with a specialist Recruiter, this is to go through the position in more detail and find out more about you and your experience.
- Face to Face or Microsoft Teams Interview with the community support manager or a member of senior management team.
- Compliance & Background checks including employment references, Right to Work checks and Enhanced DBS.
- An enhanced DBS is required. If you are not on the Update Service, we will reimburse the cost of a new DBS after 1 month probation review.
