Mental Health Support Worker

Job Introduction
Gray Healthcare recruiting a new team within the Wrexham Area to support a young gentleman in his 20's who has a diagnosis of EUPD and self-injurious behaviours who be living independently within his own property having 1:1 support 24 hours a day. He will be supported by a mixed gender team on mixed shifts of days and waking nights.
The individual has interest in keeping active and fit, so will require support around this from his staff team. We need people with a keen interest in the outdoors, sports and staying active for the role.
Gray Healthcare are an award-winning provider of complex care, providing a clinically informed approach and extensive, tailored training. As a new provider to this young man, we are taking a collaborative approach to his support to ensure the best outcome.
The 1-week training will include:
- Company Induction - Live online session
- Trauma Informed Care - Live online session
- Medication Compliance - Live online session
- Autism Awareness - Live online session
- Epilepsy Awareness - Live online session
- PROACT-SCIPr-UK - a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint-dominant approaches. 2-day in-person course
- First Aid at Work - 1-day in-person course
- Person Centred training - in-person course specific to the person you will be supporting.
Our Psychologically Informed Therapist, alongside our specialist Occupational Therapists and Nursing team will also be working closely with the individual and his team to provide guidance, informing care plans and additional support.
You must have experience of providing support to a person with personality disorders and behaviours that may be perceived as challenging within the UK and have experience of understanding and implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
We typically have 12-hour shifts but there can be flexibility around this due to this being a bank role. We have the following contracts available:
- 08.00am - 20.00pm Day Shift
- 20.00pm-08.00am
- Waking Night Shift
**About you**
- We are looking for people who have worked in social care previously, ideally with Mental Health/EUPD experience.
- You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. **We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available and are unable to consider sponsorship.**
