What you'll be doing:You’ll be primarily responsible for helping to maintain the highest standards of presentation and cleanliness in and around the house, stables and visitor reception building, ensuring these areas always look their best.

As a member of the team, you can expect to be regularly approached by visitors needing directions or asking questions about Kedleston and its history and nature. Supported by the facilities coordinator, you’ll be flexible and proactive, particularly at our busiest periods, when staff often need to ‘jump in’ and assist wherever help is needed, such as helping with deliveries, helping direct visitors or assisting other teams as required.

You’ll frequently be required to support the Facilities Manager and Facilities Coordinator in regularly carrying out a range of both indoor and outdoor safety and compliance checks, to ensure our equipment and facilities are safe and fully functional. You’ll need to be meticulous in ensuring these checks are carried out in a timely manner and recorded accurately. You’ll be fully trained in how to carry out these checks and have frequent opportunities to continue to develop your skillset and knowledge of compliance and facilities work.
- You may be called upon to carry out minor maintenance and repair tasks such as changing light bulbs/tubes, clearing blocked drains, changing a tap washer, etc. You may also be needed to help undertake temporary repairs, until a contractor or our Handy Team can attend to the problem.
