Main Purpose of the job: To deputise and support the Flight Safety Manager and provide safety officer services to the safety systems and flight data monitoring programs of Flight Data Services (FDS) customers.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Raise reports to customers either directly or via the customers safety database where airframe data uploads exceed prescribed limits and significant level 3 events identified in flight data that require further investigation
- Provide a quarterly analysis report of all the FDM events together with recommendations for safety improvements to FDS customers
- Conduct safety investigations for FDS customers into the flight data to support the customers investigation into an incident or safety issue risk assessment
- Provide monthly reports to customers as required
- Occasional out of hours support to customers
- As part of the Service Delivery team provide customer service contact and interactions with FDS customers
- Liaise with and support FDS customers integration of flight data into their safety management system
- Support the implement of safety management system elements into the FDS management system
- Produce safety publications as required
- Promote safety awareness throughout the FDS customer community
- Visit customers and attend industry and customer safety meetings
- Undertake safety related projects as directed by FDS Flight Safety Manager

**Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate degree preferably relating to an aviation / technical discipline
- Analytical and statistical skills, including the use of PC statistics packages
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees within the organisation as well as with external agencies
- Sound knowledge of current aviation safety and flight data requirements
- Proficient with MS Office suite
- Strong numerical skills with analytical and logical mindset
- Able to work independently and decisively under pressure.

Desirable:

- A piloting, engineering, airline operational or safety professional background
- Airline operation and/or safety or flight data management experience
- Postgraduate study in an area related to aviation
- Flight Data Monitoring Programme qualification
- Aviation Safety Management System qualification
- Experience with a safety database
- A second language
- Presentation, public speaking experience
