**Job Title**: Safeguarding Administrator
**Location**: Hybrid l Homebased with one or two days per week working at the office in Birmingham
**Hourly Pay Rate**: £10.29 to £11.75 dependent on experience
**Hours**: 37.5 per week (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm)
**Length of the contract**: Initially 3 months
Grafton Recruitment are now seeking to appoint an experienced Safeguarding Administrator to our Public Sector client based in Birmingham. The Safeguarding Administrator is responsible for providing a comprehensive administrative service to the safeguardingteam, providing efficient and effective support for all its activities, including the preparation of agenda and minutes, taking appropriate follow-up action as required, supporting the team with the management of projects, gathering information and undertakingenquiries as and when necessary.
**Duties of the Safeguarding Administrator**
- Acting as a point of contact for the safeguarding team, dealing with and responding to telephone or other queries effectively, and passing on relevant information to appropriate team members sensitively and autonomously.
- Liaising as required with external partner agencies and organisations.
- Handling sensitive and highly confidential material appropriately, ensuring that this information is stored securely and that client confidentiality is maintained.
- Ensuring internal systems and tracking processes (e.g. for statutory reviews, child death, children in care, missing alerts) are timely, accurate and up to date.
- Developing and maintaining effective electronic and paper filing systems, to ensure that information is kept securely and is accessible to relevant members of the team in accordance with the IG toolkit.
- Assisting in the diary management requirements of individuals within the team.
- Drafting correspondence as directed and on own initiative where appropriate.
- Organising meetings as required on behalf of the team.
- Preparing agendas and producing minutes for meetings in a timely manner.
- Assisting in the organisation of training or development sessions and workshops.
**Role Criteria**
- Significant administrative/secretarial experience including initiating and maintaining office systems.
- Demonstrable experience in dealing with the public and dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Intermediate knowledge of IT systems and software programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Understanding of Confidentiality and Data Protection Act.
- Knowledge of Public Sector issues.
- Clear communicator with excellent writing, data entry and presentation skills: capable of constructing and delivering clear information/ instructions to staff and service users.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy working environment and able to multi-task.
- Ability to work without supervision Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own and others workloads to changing and often tight deadlines.
- An ability to maintain confidentiality and trust.
