The post holder will work in collaboration with the Lead Resuscitation Practitioner and Service lead to ensure a high quality Trust wide Resuscitation Service. The post holder will be accountable and responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective day to day running of a designated Trust Site(s) providing leadership for a nominated Resuscitation Practitioner team and clinical expertise in response to resuscitation related events. The Senior Resuscitation Practitioner is expected to deliver high quality clinical care, alongside ensuring the delivery of excellent training, education and governance. Main responsibilities Lead and guide the Resuscitation Practitioner team using expert knowledge and skills to advise and support clinical practice and decision making.

Provide clinical leadership utilising knowledge and expertise at resuscitation events, review the care provided by teams and support any learning points. Initiates and develops effective relationships, demonstrating the value of the Resuscitation Practitioner role within the multidisciplinary team. Support team members from a managerial perspective including direct line management responsibilities, supporting wellbeing, professional development and appraisal. Provide leadership to junior colleagues and external instructors by acting as course director for advanced national courses.

As required demonstrate recognised resuscitation teaching methods including lectures, workshop discussion and assessment techniques. Supports the development and implementation of formal systems for collecting and reviewing patient/service information, working with key clinical teams to interpret information, identify and implement actions. Recognise the critical importance of wellbeing in self and others, seeking to identify and manage stressors or pressures to promote health and wellbeing.
