**Job Description**:
Overview: The Psychological Services Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality psychological care within Police Care UK. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise, strategic vision, and agile leadership. The role is crucial for designing, implementing, and leading psychological support services tailored to the needs of our community, ensuring these services are both effective and sensitive to the unique challenges faced by police officers and staff.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Strategic Leadership**:
Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for proactive and reactive psychological services addressing the mental health needs of the police community.

Innovate and enhance service offerings through regular reviews and the integration of the latest psychological research and best practices.

**Clinical Expertise**:
Conduct robust clinical assessments and deliver evidence-based psychological therapies for common mental health issues, including PTSD and CPTSD.

Ensure statutory, legal, and regulatory compliance in the provision of services, adhering to national guidelines and the Charity’s Articles of Association.

**Team Collaboration**:
Collaborate with the Clinical and Welfare Team, Peer Support Lead, and Peer Support Volunteers to streamline the referral process and manage clinical risks and safeguarding concerns.

Coordinate with third-party psychological therapy providers to manage Case Management Systems efficiently.

**Clinical Practice**:
Maintain a small clinical caseload, providing clinical assessments and evidence-based interventions.

Conduct comprehensive clinical risk assessments and work closely with Safeguarding leads.

Maintain confidential, written, and electronic records of clinical information and provide professional reports as needed.

**Supervision and Training**:
Provide clinical supervision and support to other clinical and beneficiary support team members.

Offer training, teaching, consultation, and advice to colleagues, and participate in clinical multi-disciplinary team meetings and case conferences.

Maintain regular Continuing Professional Development and attend regular supervision in accordance with good practice.

Network of Emergency Service Therapists (NEST):
Manage the external referral process, including making and monitoring referrals, managing invoicing queries, and acting as the clinical point of contact for NEST members.

Provide clinical oversight of service delivery and support the implementation and development of NEST.

**Person Specification**

**Qualifications**:
BABCP accredited CBT practitioner and EMDR practitioner.

Minimum of 4 years’ clinical experience in both treatment modalities.

At least 4 years’ experience in the clinical assessment and treatment of psychological trauma and other common mental health presentations.

Experience working within policing or similar blue light sector organisations, or with individuals who have experienced similar uniform profession psychological trauma.

**Skills and Experience**:
Experience working autonomously within clinical settings, with the ability to identify and manage clinical risk and safeguarding.

Proficient in assessing, planning, and delivering Trauma-Focused psychotherapy to individuals affected by PTSD/CPTSD.

Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience in providing clinical supervision and conducting service evaluations and audits.
